This is what happens when you dont clean the fuel out of your scale heli body and the hot exhaust sets light to it.

as sad as it is. it must have looked amazing falling out the sky on fire. did it just flame up, or did it explode? sorry for your loss.

Having had to sit while the eggbeater Bogarts the airspace at the field ("We" dont fly while a copter is in the air here.), I find it hard to squirt a tear.

heli's are pretty insane. i man and his kid had a real small styrofoam chopper about a foot long and were flying it in a field outside my house. it flipped over my house and into a tree in my backyard. if that thing had been anybigger we might have had our tree trimmed for free. i showed him were there was a better place to learn to fly. he was nice about it and very apologetic. just a story about one of the nicer and more sane heli pilots out there.

aaaahhhh. so are you that much of a heli hater? i think it would be fun to fly a heli. although the word "fly" might be better replaced by the word crash.

helis are popular at my field. The first time I went to a meet there I could not believe what they can do in the right hands. I watched the pilots thumbs while in flight and even I lost track of the inputs. Amazing! Not for me though.

it takes a lot to fly them right. they can be alot more dangerous than planes though.

I don't hate heli's, but just can't seem to get interested in them. I just can't see flying something that doesn't look like scale flying. And when they crash, they take a long time to die. If they're not dead when they hit, they finish themselves off by beating themselves to death. If someone is interested, more power to them, I just can't get excited about trying.

I really have nothing against the hobby, it's just that I can't get myself to be interested. Maybe in a few years it might be different, but for now, I am sticking to planes.

screamindemon69: Well I got you there, I am 52 so you got plenty of time ahead of you to try anything. I'm just an old guy (sort of ) that likes planes.

I had a mid-air with a nexus 30 and superstik 60 while racing around, one of the better crashes at the field

I don't like helis because you have to buy replacement parts, you can't make your own out of balsa. Helicopters would tear up my combats in midairs, but they have to catch me, and my combats only cost about $10 each, pretty good trade huh, one heli for 10 and a days worth of work= 1 small snowstorm
Just joking about the mid airs lol
