Did you purchase from the local hobby shop or ordered online? If it were me, I'd contact customer service and see what they can do. Usually OS and their retailers stand behind their engines.

Give them a day or two to respond and then call them again. http://www.advantagehobby.com/help.p...mp;mode=update . But I wouldn't run the engine with that much slop. You could damage the engine back plate and crank.

Cheers,

The endplay does seem excessive though the rattle is fairly normal for an OS LA. In fact at our field we call it the "LArattle". They run great, they just rattle.
