Default engine damage

Not sure if this is the correct thread. Please advise. The wing on my ultrastick 120 broke loose and down came the fuse burying the engine into some real sloppy muck.I washed off the entire engine in hot water and examined it. No visible signs of damage, however I tried to turn the prop. shaft every so slightly with my fingers. No luck. I was going to send it to Horizon (it's a Saito 120) and see what they come up. What other options do I have? A fellow flyer suggested that the prop hub bearing may be lodged and we should get a gear puller and see if that works. Any other ideas before I send it off? Other people that repair Saitos?

If you have the means, I would recommend that you totally disassemble the engine and inspect it. I'm willing to bet that it's just bearings that will need a cleaning, but you have to make certain that you get all the water, grit and mud out before you even think about rotating the crankshaft.

Don't ask me how I know about this

It all depends on weather the engine is still under warranty. If it is, do nothing yourself and send it in for the experts to handle. Otherwise, the suggestions above are good.

if crash damage is covered in the warranty-that is a great warranty, I would send it back to the authorized repair center and have it gone thru.
