Default Recovering crashed plane

Hello
I am trying to recover a VQ models Hawker Hurricane and to say the least things are not going well.
The airplane is covered with some type of stick on adhesive covering. When I removed the covering there is a glue on the balsa that is hard to get off.
Itried to clean it up with sand paper but it won't come off. IS there a method for removing this glue that anyone is familiar with?

A heat gun should soften/loosen up the adhesive.  While it's still warm, you should be able to scrape/rub it off with a hobby knife, paper towel, sandpaper, something like that...just depends on how stubborn it wants to be.

Some one mentioned acetone but Iam not sure about using it.

I too am doing a VQ Hurricane recover, and that glue is the stickiest F*&ing stuff to get off, which I have never been able to do fully.

I tried every solvent from meths to acetone, GP thinners, nothing removed it although the GP thinners did get a lot of the surface stuff off.

As I ended up glassing the whole plane, what I did was us GP thinners to get as much off as I could then sprinkled talk over the surface, rubbed it in, and gave it a very light sand to work the talk in, then another rub over with a cloth and GP thinners. This removed most of the stickiness.

The glass and resin then went on this surface and has bonded quite well.

A friend of mine tried methyl hydrate on the balsa and used a razor blade to scrape it off.
This works perfect.

There is this solution called Ooops! You can buy it from supermarkets and home depots. Ive had lot of success with removing glues, epoxies, and other adhesives from my plane with it!
