By the way, I just saw this and thought of you. $29 and it comes with the free FMS simulator software I posted a link to. This is the best deal in town if you're only option is to teach your self.

RE: INTERSTING QUESTION?????
Miami,
I started with one of those little two channel jobs as well, you do not really need much training or instruction, your problem was too much wind I would be willing to bet. You will get good at fixing that little plane, because there will be a number of those type of crashes. Once you get bit by the bug to fly you will move up to bigger, much more complex and powerful aircraft, then you will have a ton of money and time invested and you will need to get some instruction on how to fly a real plane, not the toy you have there. The real ones weigh a lot more, fly about 10 X faster and require more skills to keep in the air. Keep it up and have fun. manks |
RE: INTERSTING QUESTION?????
THANK YOU everyone for your help and yes that SIM does look very good and yes i will buy it pending on if they send me a new plane or not............ about the wind factory yes i agree but the thing is that the engine jsut stalled 10 feet in the air and noting worked........ when i got the plane and tryed to power up the motor noting worked even tho the plane was geting power the rudders/motor didnt work the company says the motor under load is was probably fryed everything i didnt mention the wind factor maybe the wind was to much load.........lol oh well............ well see what happens i shipped out the plane and im suppose to be geting a new one well see what happens!!!!!!!

RE: INTERSTING QUESTION?????
Miami's Finest (?)
Well at least it wasn't a real/ expensive RC plane. Use of a simulator or instructor prior to your "throwing caution and your plane to the wind" would of made a big difference in the outcome. By the way your post's are very dificult to read. What ever happened to spelling, gramar and puntuation. Darren |
RE: INTERSTING QUESTION?????
I've been to the AMPS field, very well taken care of. off of Krome ave and 158th St, I think.

ORIGINAL: MiamizFinest Hello i purchased my FIRST RC PLANE TO DAY!!!!!!!!!!! its called SKY FLY its a trainer type plane its was 100 bucks RTF im goin to take her for a spin tomorrow!!! i was reading these crashes and i was thinking to my self HEY ILL BE ON HERE TO MORROW LOLOL (ofcourse with alot less loss of money that what others have experianced) my question PLEASE DONT LAUGH IM A FLY NOOB is there any type of parachute sytsem???? i use to be into model rocket when i was younger and i thought it might be a good idea to plant a parachute one of your planes (ofcourse one 50 to 100 times the size of those estes rocket ones LOL) if you lose control or a wing breaks off one side or an engine dies out wouldnt it be a good idea to blow a parachute out of the back of the plane for a safe landing?? has anyone you know tryed this?? in theory its sounds very easy but is it possible??? let me know!!!!!!!!! |

RE: INTERSTING QUESTION?????
Don't know if it will help or not, I've been flying RC Planes since 1983, and can usually bring the birds down in the recommended number of pieces (Glitches aside!). The best advice;
1. Get a flight simulator/Instructor. 2. Use small inputs take it slow.. 3. If you can't get an instructor, these are some of the tricks I have had success with while I was learning: When you turn plane to come back towards you is where most beginners get disoriented and loose control. (controls are now reversed) With plane is coming right at you, move the control stick towards the dipped wing, this will level the plane out. Practice this allot, it works like a charm. Another method controlling the plane while coming towards you, turn your body in the direction the plane is traveling and look over your shoulder. This might work. Hope this helps, the people who succeed in flying RC Aircraft are those who are persistent. Oh and money helps! Steve |
RE: INTERSTING QUESTION?????
thanks but I cant get my plane to launch off of asphalt, it's always wants to turn in circles to the left and right yesterday I tried hand launching after leaving my hand it we up at a 30 deg. angle stalled and nosed in ( I didn't even have a chance to react). The damage is very severe I give up it's time to get back to cars

RE: INTERSTING QUESTION?????
I'm self taught w/ 1 or 2 crashes under my belt after 6 years. I learned how to fly using a simulator from a college student and a mouse to steer with. Not a very good way to learn.
Everyone will want to do their flying/landing different. The easiest way for me to land is by watching the planes glide path. If the sucker's coming in at the right angle in relation to the runway and not descending too steep, don't move the elevator, but use the engine to control your height. I get it on a good glide path and let the rest take care of itself, otherwise I pull out. That's what one chap at my club suggested: use the elevator to control your speed and the engine to control your height when landing. I use that method with mixed results. It's all about the glide path. It seems that more people are taking to cars then airplanes. I think that's because of how easy it is to control in relation. G |
RE: INTERSTING QUESTION?????
these newer sims have very realistic characteristics, and sometimes cost less than some of the trainers that dont have "glitches" or other problems...
i would say get one of those...you seem to have a large collection of cars....are you willing to sell any? of so, sell em, get the sim, learn to fly, earn some more cash, and get a decent trainer.... that FS1 and real fligh G3 or G3.5 have very real flying characteristics, and they do have planes simliar to what you had and what youll probably choose as a trainer....flight sims are meant for people to get used to the way the plane flys, and how the controls work, and they are meant to help train beginner pilots to fly... |

RE: INTERSTING QUESTION?????
Hey Miamiz:
Back to your question of a parachute system. I have thought about that myself and believe such a think could be done if you consider it in with your CG!!!!!!!!! You could have it SERVO activated, but if your plane goes down due to battery failure, That is called > Tuff Luck<, You could use light weight nylon or silk, make a shute about 2' in diameter or this could end up being a scientific calculation depending on the weight of your plane. The servo could release the spring loaded hatch'door latch' in the belly. You need to take care that it is clear of your servo rods to the flaps. I just might try this on an experimental. I think it would be cool to send(only for this purpose) a plane sky high then release a chute and watch it float back down:D.Might be replaceing props and engines unless they are wing mounted and the nose is re-inforced. I think people would drop their jaws to watch a very nice performance JUST to see the plane climb very high, go into a stall, then out pops the shute:D.You can do anything you set your mind to! Take Care>>>>>>>> Scott ORIGINAL: MiamizFinest Hello i purchased my FIRST RC PLANE TO DAY!!!!!!!!!!! its called SKY FLY its a trainer type plane its was 100 bucks RTF im goin to take her for a spin tomorrow!!! i was reading these crashes and i was thinking to my self HEY ILL BE ON HERE TO MORROW LOLOL (ofcourse with alot less loss of money that what others have experianced) my question PLEASE DONT LAUGH IM A FLY NOOB is there any type of parachute sytsem???? i use to be into model rocket when i was younger and i thought it might be a good idea to plant a parachute one of your planes (ofcourse one 50 to 100 times the size of those estes rocket ones LOL) if you lose control or a wing breaks off one side or an engine dies out wouldnt it be a good idea to blow a parachute out of the back of the plane for a safe landing?? has anyone you know tryed this?? in theory its sounds very easy but is it possible??? let me know!!!!!!!!! |

hehe! I know that feelin, Miami...I started out with a Parkzone mustang! It was a beautiful, glorious 20 second flight! Now, I have a bunch of electronics, trying to build myself some blue foamies to stretch out into , say 2 minute flights!
I feel yer pain, brotha! |
