JohnVH:
If you have any image manipulatind software, such as Photoshop, you CAN make your images look a LOT better with a little bit of tweeking. By that, I mean to adjust the images HISTOGRAM.
On a MAC, one your image is open> command "L"> sllide the small triangle under the pop-up at least to where you see the vertical "moutain-like" lines. These "lines" go from the base-line at the bottom to whatever amplitude the digital programming deterines that particlar vertical line.
The numbers go from 0 to 255. In essence the 256 that we all know about, per colour. i.e. R G B.
Move the right triangle and it will BRIGHTEN your image -- don't go too far.
The left triangle moves to the right and will DARKED your image.
The CENTER triangle either increases or decreases the overall contrast.
A slight movement of any one, ar perhaps all three will amke significant changes in all of your images. I never trust the computers AUTO adjust
YOU be the judge.
Try it! It'll make awesome amouts of differences in your output

Johnny VH,
Glad you got your 20D troubles behind you, looks good.
I think the 400 is a replacement for the 350, none yet for the 20d other than the 30D which is no reason to upgrade. BTW the list is rumored to be $795 for the 400 so prices are coming down. Couple of new lenses out as well.
i actually had to take out insurance after I realised how much was in my backpack, but at $89 pa I think its worth it

If you look at the 1st page and Sharbolds links it will take you to his great collection, click on one and look up the Exif data to get an idea of his settings and results.
I usually use the P mode and set shutter speed at around 800 for some prop blur, center focus, continuous shooting enabled or you could use TV and let it do the work, just depends, I dont think there is a hard and fast answer.

Funny, funny. LOL. I also had more photos appear in the January issue of another magazine though no cover shot on that one. However, that was a R/C car magazine and didn't have any "night" photos like the heli photo. Are you going to RCX?
