What kind of camera?
Standard 35mm film camera, you would need to scan the prints with a scanner and save on the computer or on a disk for later downloading to your computer.
Digital camera, there should be some kind of cabling to connect it to the computer such as a USB cable, or either a card reader for the memory media or a CDROM, depending on how the camera stores the pictures.
My old Sony Mavica used standard floppy disks or a floppy disk adapter. [:-]
My new Sony Cybershot uses either a USB cable or I could use a media card reader to download from the Memory Sticks.
My little airborne Aiptek Mega Cam uses USB.

It appears that what you have is a DCR-TRV7. Go to the Sony documention site. Here is the link.
http://www.iq.sony.com/srvs/sosdocs/...rc=sonysupport
Enter the model number above.
You can download the manual there. There do not appear to be any upgrades for the software or usb driver.

The DCR-TRV7 doesn't have a USB port. It has a firewire connector so you need to get a firewire cable with a mini connector on one end and you will also need a firewire port on your computer. If you computer doesn't have a firewire port you can pick one up at your local computer store for $25 - $50. If the TRV7 didn't come with any software you will also need to pickup some DV editing software since W2K doesn't come with any unlike WinXP.
