Default D\F modification

Hi all
I am thinking about build a new x-frame from C\F and use 4 GWS motor GW\EPS-300DS prop 11X4.7
What do you think? I want to use the VTi board

The x-frame is nice but I doubt you will get that motor to work with DF. 4 of those motors with that prop will draw over 20 amps for the voltage output from the controller. I'm assuming that is a brushless motor which is a somewhat difficult redesign task (see brushless motor thread).

Hi mike
This is not a brushless motor, the motor is the same brushed motor as the D\F (i have one) the gear is 6.6:1 close to the D\F gear.
we can find in the site(http://www.gwsus.com/english/product...em/eps300c.htm) a set that can match the D\F board.
the GWS is more rigid and can reduced the motor vibration and the prop hitting the frame.
Please advise

OK, if it is a brushless motor, you might be able to use it. The Power MOSFETs have a lot of current margin but you will have to add heat sinks. I have tested the GWS 6.6:1 gear box with various brushless motors and have found that the EP 1260 prop can produce 8oz of thrust with only 2 amps from the normal DF battery using the right motor. The problem is that you have to have a pair of matching "pusher" props to work on DF. Remember that two props are right hand (normal design) and two props are left hand (pusher). The only props I have found close to the right size that are available in both types is the APC 9x6E and APC 9x6EP combination. These are really a little too small for best performance with the 6.6:1 gear box and the motors I had tested but might be worth considering.

Hope that helps,

Mike
