Default Fly to a Specific Location

I'm currently do not own a drone so I have no knowledge of their full capabilities. I've been a pattern flyer for many decades and many of the flying fields that I've flown at are surrounded by farmland. When corn is planted and gets to be 8 feet high, a plane that goes down in the corn field can be difficult if not impossible to find. I fly with a JETI radio. JETI recently released a GPS module which will identify, by lat/long, the position of a model if it crashes. The information is stored in the transmitter so even if the receiver has no power after the crash, the last known position is retained in the transmitter. My question is this: can a drone be programmed to fly to specific lat/long coordinates and hover over that spot. If so, it would be game changer as far as finding an expensive pattern ship that went down in a corn field or other thick vegetation.
