Default Building a DIY "Submarine" Drone

Hey all! I am an engineering student at UBC and every year we are supposed to undertake an engineering project. This year we decided to build a drone that can swim underwater like a submarine or ROV.
We also wanted to build it based on hobby based needs/wants and the first step would be to figure out what all of you think of something like this!

I know there are a few prototypes out there already that do what we are looking to do and I have also seen a few videos on what looks like resin coating an entire drone, but we wanted to design it with some sort of criteria that would make it fun to use.
If anyone has any experience with what we are trying to do we would very much appreciate having a chat!

Thanks everyone for reading
