I just put a Himax 2025-4200 in my Formosa. Blew my budget on the motor and controller so I couldn't afford the 3S batteries I'd like. I'm running it on 2S 1500 and 2S 1900 with 10x8 props. Good verticle but not unlimited. Nice speed for my windy flying sight. I'm very happy.
Could someone run the numbers on what I'm using now and make recommendations on 3S and 3S2P packs and props. I believe I'm very close to 1:1 (thrust/weight) on my 15 oz plane.
Thanks for the help. Randy

I dont know what the numbers are but I have the same motor with a cc pheonix 25 and tp 2100 3s 6.6:1 gearing with a 12x6 prop on a 20 oz plane and it hovers at half throtle. with unlimited vertical. I think motor calc says that setup is around 33 oz of thrust not sure though.

with etec 3s1200's, turning a GWS 11x4.7SF prop, the setup you have will put out ~22oz of thrust @ ~8A, according to motocalc. i have this setup on my 13.7oz SX2 and it hovers @ ~ half throttle, with MORE than enough to go crazy straight up. with your batteries, you'll probably get more. i avg 15+ min per flight.
