Default Rx Voltage tester

I have an analog volt meter and would like to know what I can do to simulate a load when testing my receiver voltage at the field? Does it matter to simulate the load?
Thanks in advance.

Connect a # 47 light bulb across the leads. This will give you a 250 mA load on a 4.8 volt pack. Instructions on building a load box can be seen at the Battery Clinic web site below.
