Default Problem with astroflight motor

I was attempting to convert fro nitro to e-power (I have always been a nitro person). I followed the suggestions form several sources on this site and have had a very negative result.

I have a CC 45 (should be more than what is required) an astro 803hv (voyager e) and a 4000mah 10c lipo pack.
I was hovering in the basement (doing setup/blade tracking). After about 15 minutes (total) hover time.
(4 to 5) short duration hovers (3 minutes or less), I did a 5 -6 minute hover, both the motor and the speed controller
got very hot. I recharged the LIpo pack and tried to hover again. Within a few seconds the seed controller, wires for the controller to the motor and the
motor were very very hot. I took the motor off of the LMH and tried to run it with the speed controller both get very hot within seconds at the lowest
possible RPM.

I think one or the other is toast or possibly both.
Any way to tell what is good and what is not?
Is there a motor that has more power than the astroflight?
