I am building Top-Flite's Elder 40 as an electric conversion. This is my first foray into high power electrics. I installed E-Flite's outrunner 46 as a power source. The recommended battery is a 6000 maH, Thunder Tiger ,4s rated at 25C. I would like to use an Electrify 5000 maH, 4s, rated at 20C. I wanty to use this batt because of my charger type and the availability of a matching balancer. Batteries this size cost $200+ so I want to be sure I get a batt that will work. Can someone out there help me who has more knowledge and experience than me?

The E-flite Power 46 outrunner can handle 40amps continuous current and up to 55amps for 15 second bursts.

A 20C rated ElectriFly 5000mAh (5AH) pack can deliver up to 100amps (20 * 5amps) so it is a fine match to power the E-flite 46 motor.

I am running a 4000 4S only 15C and it's only pulling 35 Amps.. You will be fine either way.. I am running a Zinger Pro 15x6 and it's great on the Funtana 50X. NO It won't pull out of a hover like a foamy but it has PLENTY for what I need.. I am going to get a 2100 4s and see what it will do. this way I will be ready to show it off at SEFF!!!
