Default Newbee lipo powersource question??

Hi, to make a long story short, can I use a motorcycle battery as my powersource and just recharge with a standard 12v trickle charger?? Thanks in advance.

guver -

The poster's question was about charging lipos.

Are you sure that lipos can be safely charged with a trickle charger? That has never been my understanding.

Sorry If I was unclear, I would use the motorcycle battery to charge my lipos (via my lipo charger that requires a 12v power source)

I would use the trickle charger to re-charge the motorcycle battery.

Thanks. Now i can get a 12v DC powersourse form my local Wal-mart Instead of ordering online (about $40 w/ charger compaired to $28 w/o shipping)

sure, I might be paying a little more, but I don't have to wait for shipping. And I can return it right away If I have trouble.

Now, only if it would stop SNOWING[:@]

EDIT: spelling

Another alternative to the trickle charger is what is called a "float charger". It is designed to leave on a 12 volt lead acid battery indefinitely to maintain the charge. I have one on my lawn tractor battery that supplies my three lipo chargers, each charging 2500 mAh 3S lipos. I also have one on my ski boat battery all winter. Available from Harbor Freight about $7.
