Default RE: ?????

LiPos have a nominal voltage of 3.7, A123s 3.3. LiPos should not be discharged below 3.0v while A123s can go to 2.8. LiPos charge to 4.2v, A123s 3.8. Your balancer while check the voltage in the cells and determine the state of balance based on these values. LiPos are lithium polymer cells, A123s are lithium Ferrite. LiPos come in a soft case and can blow up and burn if abused only slightly. A123s come in an aluminum can; they will blow up, but not burn if severly abused.

Does that answer your question?

Simple correction, A123 can go to 2.0 v/cell.no harm done.
