Default Wet MCX2

My Blade MCX2 got away from me in light wind and before I found it, it had rained on it. It is completely dried out after resting in a California forest for nearly two weeks without rain. Now with a fully charged new battery, it flies up about two feet then slowly settles to the ground and turns off. The cyclic servo motors work fine as do the lights when first turned on. The rotor blades turn freely in the bearings when turned by hand. If I hold the unit in my hand and advance the throttle, the lower blades slow to a stop and the unit turns off. I cleaned the contacts of the three plugs on the 5 in 1 board and the battery plug but do not know what to do beyond that. Please do not tell me how stupid I was to fly this craft out of doors as I am painfully aware of it. However, I would appreciate any advice on restoring this unit to proper working order. I had a blast flying indoors with this wonderful helicopter.
