Hi im new to these forums but theres a lot of great info here.
i was wondering what kind of forward flight experience people have had with a modified blade CX. Specifically the mod where you cut out huge holes in the canopy to get better airflow to the 4-1 and the engines. Also, I was wondering if the heatsink available for the BCX is a worthwhile investment.
thanks

Heatsink is a good idea. Heat leads to the ultimate failure of the motors. Even with the heatsink on, the motors run fairly hot. Good idea to use the heatsink compound to disperse heat also. Some people have blackened the motors with a "Sharpie". I guess this distributes the heat a little more. Can't say for sure if this works.
I have had no issues with venting the canopy. Foward flight is the same. I like to fly outdoors, this helps with the heat, but it has to be calm outside.

We have done major cutting out of the canopy above and below the 4-1 as well as next to the motors.I have noticed no difference in forward flight.I do notice that the 4-1 runs cooler
