Default Dual tail mount binding

Got an issue here with the blue anadized dual tail motor mount from HD. The top motor has adjustment to it but the front motor doesnt and its actually binding the gear and making it stick hard. I just know that if I try fly it like this Ill burn out the motor.
Anyone else have this prob??

I love the look of that mount and wanna make it work. I was thinking about enlarging the screw holes a bit somehow so it has adjustment.

If theres no fix Ill just have to go to 1 motor on the top so I can mesh the gears.

Psikelly,

Not familiar with the dual tail motor ya got. But if you feel that it's binding that much, get out your dremel and make adjusments.

Holy cow. not what have you got yourself into.

lol I dont know. Id really like to use the dual tail setup but if its gonna be too many probs then Ill stay with the single motor. I was thinking about slotting the srew holes for more adjustment. Maybe tomorrow. Ive gotten everything hooked up in my heli now, all thats left is to setup the ESC. Turn off the brake and set auto lipo.

Im just itching to test out that new G90.

you must try the dual mount - anything that improves tail power has gotta be done, especially
with a new gyro [sooo jealous] but you gotta get rid of that binding

Hey,

I have 2 blade cp's and I have modified one of them with the dual tail motor aluminum motor mount. However mine has two adjustable slots that the motors screws ride into, which makes it very east to achieve the right gear meshing. Not sure what yours looks like but would highly suggest trying to make the slots, Maybe a dremmel tool?[sm=72_72.gif]

I actually got it meshed today. The top motor just wasnt sitting quite right and the bottom one was sitting a little crooked. Tinkered away and finally got it. But Im gonna need to slot that 1 mototr mount like you guys are saying. The top mount has the slots but the bottom doesnt. I think they both should to work best. Itll give me something else to do tomorrow.

Hmmmm... That's weird. I have the same mount, and my front motor fits perfectly. Are you sure it's not the motor? Did you try swapping them?

Perhaps they did just drill the holes a bit wrong. If so, it should be easy to slot one of them like you said. That would fix it for sure...

On a side note, I tried my wood symmetrical blades today for the first time (bought them back when I bought the BCP, but just never tried them until now).

I also slid the flybar weights all the way in towards the center hub. I like how it flies much better with this combination! It is much faster to respond, and I can REALLY hold it in a tight hover now. It also performs great in Idle up mode out in the wind. It seems much less affected by the wind than with the flat blades.

I think I am going to get a set of carbons soon. I think I'm ready for them finally
