Default Blade CP Pro tale!!!

Here is the story:
Yesterday I decided to fly my BCPP at dusk because that’s when the wind is really calm. I was a little dark but I took off anyway (smart). I still have the training gear on it so I am not an expert by no means. It was going well when I decided: let’s try Idle up mode! (smart again) and it was way more stable but a little faster. I fly in a parking lot that is surrounded by trees and I usually have a good perception of depth but….yes you guessed right! I slammed the little guy against a three! Oh man..It was painful to hear the blades cutting branches and leaves, I immediately cut the throttle but…yes, you guessed right! I was in idle up! So I continued to cut leaves and branches until I figured it out. Well now I have the heli stuck in a tree 18 ft high way out of my reach. What do I do? The tree did not look strong enough to climb to so what else? I have nothing in my car that can help me reach the little guy. And I can’t leave and go home to get a broom or something because I would be out of range with my radio and I don’t want to fry the 3 in 1 if its not fried already! Leaving the radio on under the tree came to my mind but I thought of a better but embarrassing option: call my wife for help!... I guess you can imagine any wife laughing at you over the phone when you tell her about the problem you’ve just got yourself into! …well, she came over with a broom and I was able to climb on the top of her SUV and reach the poor guy with a broom. It took me 5 min trying to get it of the tree, it was so messed up up there and the training gear did not help either. Damage report: main shaft bent and plastic gear teeth eaten up by the motor pinion, bent spindle, bent flybar and of course wrecked blades. To my surprise the 3 in 1 is fine and the servos too! I spent the rest of the night working on it and it will be ready to fly again! next time I will do it earlier and be more respectful to idle up mode!

Ouch.

I smacked into the neighborer's tree with my CX,about 20 feet up.

It fell out of the tree and landed on right side up on the skids (without training gear)

I was a little stunned as I had those flashes of it stuck in the tree or smashed up.

I throttles it up and flew it back over the fence and home.

I think about everyone that owns a Blade CP has been in the same predicament. I have so much fun flying it and laughing at the silly thing. I have even flown into my transmitter antenna during a high speed pass...LOL...and darn near hit myself when the tail rotor shaft retainer rubber slips and I lose tail rotor control. Anyone else had their knuckles whacked with the main blades besides me? The neighbors dog chases it to. Fortunately, he hasn't caught it yet!

I also have enough spare parts on hand to build a complete new CP.
