Worst heli repair job IMHO. First you have to desolder the tail motor wires. (hope you have a soldering iron)
Then pull the wires out of the boom. Great if you can save 'em. I usually replace, as they're only 2 bucks.
Next...the tail rotor mount. I've had good luck w/ heat here, but I have a heat gun. Be careful you don't melt that plastic mount. CA debonder might work. If you screw it up....the mount is pretty cheap too. I'd take off the motor before any heat or debonder.
Now...for the ugly part. I had no luck w/ debonder or heat on the boom to frame part. The only solution is to saw the darn thing off flush, and then drill it out. I found you've got to go in stages. Start w/ a bit slightly bigger than the inside hole of the boom, and then work your way up. You want to chew up that carbon w/ out cutting into the plastic frame.
After all that you get to fish the wires back through the boom (route thru frame and boom before you stick the boom into the frame), glue on the mount, hoping you get it square and then resolder those tiny wires.
Did I say that I hate boom replacements? That's why I went back to balsa rotors on the BCP.
Sorry to hear you had that kind of damage so soon. Start slow. Soon as it get's away....shut it down. I got my experience w/ boom fixes from blade strikes from running the plastic blades on the BCP. The lightweight blades on the HBfp shouldn't cause boom strike cracks.
BTW: I had to send back the TX on my HBfp MK3 because it would lose power if moved about. Luckily didn't occur while flying. Hopefully you didn't crash because of this issue. I'm starting to feel bad about recommending this one. [

Hey Johnnycat....email me if you need Pshop tips......or any of you other 'cats out there. I used to teach this stuff. But I don't think we need to turn this forum into Pshop 101. (paths and lasso accomplish a similar goal, but they are not the same tool, btw)
My first recommendation however, is get Deke McClellen's "Photoshop Bible" book. (If you are serious) A lot of people don't like this book, as it is not a tutorial like Adobe's "Classroom in a Book", but pretty covers pretty much everything.
That crazyass Russell Brown has some great tips online.....russelbrown.com. However, his tips are mostly power user stuff. He even covers some moves I thought I'd invented!
