Since getting my CX, I've had to dump the throttle a few times when I got in trouble due to battery problems or just bad piloting. In these instances, I've usually managed to land upright but the skids took the impact. I've now broken two left skids in exactly the same place. Here is something I tried that seems to be working.
Disclaimer - I'm sure I'm not the first person to think of this, but since I haven't seen it anywhere, I figured I would share.
I bought about a foot of small fuel tubing at the hobby store. I then sprayed some WD-40 in it and slid it onto each of the 4 skid leg (not sure of the proper term). I found that keeping the tubing whole, then sliding it on and triming it worked best (cut it about 1/4" from the top with a knife to let the leg connect into the frame).
So far it is holding up pretty well. I haven't noticed any difference in the flight and I haven't had any broken skids.
So, if you have been having the same problem this is a 99 cent solution.
