I was having a big problem with plasti blade strikes breaking my cf tail boom. Wood blades are great but too expensive concidering they will chip so easily. I went to the lhs and bought a 4ft cf rod that is solid not hollow. It is a little smaller the the sotck (sorry don't know the size) but it is just a hair smaller. I wrapped two wraps of scotch tape around each end and it fit perfect and even took ca. It has worked great! No tail breaks with quite a few strikes. Oh yeah, I just ran the wires along the under side of the boom and taped them down too.

Be sure to check your spindle shaft after those boom strikes, because it maybe bent or bending. The energy from the boom strike has to be released somewhere.

If you are getting a lot of boom strikes your spindle is bent and / or you need to add some shims to your grips, to cut down on the play.

Indeed......energy can not be created or destroyed.....so it had to go somewhere. The question is just what is bent, broken, or at least weakend.

stop using plastic blades and you wont have blade to tail boom strikes

I run symmetrical plastics (Ice Blades) and don't get boom strikes.

The trick is to add shims to your head. it stiffens it and no more strikes.

1 on each side works for me, also as your O rings wear either replace them, or add more shims.
