Tale Spinner on third motor??

You may want to try dual tail motors, I have not burned out a tail motor since I have gone to the duals.
Just make sure you start with two fresh motors.
I almost went to the resistor and zener diode mod but the duals give more control.

When you are in HH and idle up, if you give hard up collective, does your tail stay pretty much straight? And opposite, with quick negative pitch does the tail keep up?
I am running MY HH at 110 gain.... I think with my tail motor going out, it has really screwed up my trying to setup the HH correctly...

It keeps up fairly well, though the motors being variable speed will never be perfect.
The variable speed motors are the weak point in the system.
I have however cut my prop down by about 3/8' on each side, I did it from something I read about better response.
I forget where I read about doing it, but it seems to help, I may try cutting it even more, say another 3/8" for 3/4" in total.
Just FYI the tail on a T-Rex is variable pitch and that system is incredible, like a rock.
That new Heli-Max Axe looks pretty good, I want a barebones one so I can put the DX6 and a brushless motor in it.
