Default tail motor

Hi their to all blade cp owners. I heard that you have to replace the tail motor after about every 20 flight or battery packs. Is this really necessary? Thanks

You will notice when it is necesary because the tail becomes erratic. Or you run out of trim, Just watch for it.

Mine became erratic, I compensated with the gain and proportional...it lost the ability maintain power to hold the tail at all when I declared it dead. Some of the things I've found:

* try not to slap the tail on the ground while hovering (can't be good for it and you can hear your tail rotor blades slapping).
* don't overspeed the tail motor and make jerky corrections to the tail (smooth and even on the stick).
* try not to drop the heli out of the air quickly (hitting the heli hard on the ground). Make as smooth of a decent as possible.

If you're still in the learning stage, you'll have to do some of the above just to avoid wrecking the unit. I had to buy one new tail motor, and I'll have to buy another...it's a given.

You may want to think about going to dual tail motors or DD.

I have not burned out a tail motor since going to dual Tail Motors.

Have Fun!

I have a DD motor coming in the mail with other crash parts, is it a direct replacement, the only addition needed being a prop retainer?
