Default Transmitter Question

Im sure this has been answered somewhere but i haven't been able to find it in any post. I have a futaba radio (6XHs) that i want to use with my Blade CPP, and im wondering if i can use the XTAL out of the Blade TX in my futaba radio. All the other posts i've seen have been about changing Xtals in the RX. If i can't, why not? I dont really understand the difference in Xtal's except frequency.

Thanks

I believe it will work, in fact I think I did it once with a 7C.

Default RE: Transmitter Question

I have a question about the blade cp's transmitter and reciever.I just bought a new body kit with retracts. The transmitter clames to be a 6channel along with the reciever but there are no other switches to activate the retracts. The reciever is a 4-1 control unit. How can I make this work with the retracts? This is a E-flite Blade CP and the body is airwolf with retracts> Please help.

NO, you cannot change the channel on your transmitter by changing the crystal. It is illegal period.
You can send your radio into Futaba and have it retuned to a new channel but it is illegal to just change crystals.
You can change the crsytal in a reciever, no problem there.
There is a long thread somewhere in the beginner airplane forum that goes through it including links to the specific FCC regulations that cover it.

TowerHobbies has a section on radios, freq/channels, etc that you may want to look at.
