Default Servos twitching (Revised post)

I need some help please. I've had my CP Pro for 5 weeks now and all of the sudden one of the three main rotor servo is twitching, even on a full battery. My proportional pot is set just nicely and I had the gain in a good spot at around 10:00. Now, not matter where I set the gain, the one gyro twitchs on and off. I've had no crashes and am completely stumped.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

GTrug, I don't understand what a tail motor would have to do with the gyro's twitching on the main rotor? They are two seperate things. The 3 gyro's twitch even when the motors are not powered up. My tail rotor does not heat up above the normal amount.

Does anyone else have any suggestions or ideas?

i believe you mean servos, not gyros. those will usually twitch if you have a radio glitch or if they have gone bad. they may also twitch if your motors don't have caps on them (little brown discs).

Sorry Trug, you were correct, I meant to say the servo, not thy gyro. Is there anything that I can do to fix it other then an replacement? I don't understand why it would go after 5 weeks?

Unhook the link on the servo that is twitching and move it with your hand. If you feel it pop then you have stripped gears that you can replace for 4.00. If no stripped gears I would replace the servo 17.00. They can go bad. In fact I will send you a twitching one if you would like it.

if it's just the gears are gone, like lwatson said, replacing them is the most affordable way to fix them. on the other hand if those stock s-75 servo's need full replacement, you might consider upgrading them. there are some upgrade servos that give a fair improvement in holding power, centering, and durability for not much more $$$ (like the sm-22 servos i linked below, i use those on my blade, and for the price they're hard to beat). those s-75's aren't exactly known for being first class.

btw, it's always best to fix all 3 servos at the same time if only one is bad. otherwise you can get swash interaction from the servos not matching up well.

Thanks for the advice guys. I unplugged the servo and plugged it in again and the twitching stopped. I'll give it a fly after dinner and post again

Well, sometimes like all new tecnology unplugging or rebooting sometimes fixes funny little glitches.
Maybe you have a bent control arm or an out of line socket thats making the servo glitch.
I once had that happen on a rc plane servo. The fix was to take the arm off and readjust....

The test flight seemed to work okay until I backed off on the proportional pot, then the twitching came back on the servo so I think that the 6 in one receiver might be malfuntioning. I moved the setting back up higher and the twitching went away again,

By the way, I did unhook the link arm from the swash plate at one point and the servo still twitched so I don't think that it was a bent arm, but thanks for the tip Teter Head.

hmm, proportional should have nothing to do with the servos. maybe the 4n1 is going bad. the trimmers used to adjust proportional and gain are somewhat fragile. it's possible the proportional poti is broken.[]
