Default Help got a drifter!

Just looking for a few ideas got a bcpp with a park 370 main, Gws DD tail, Efl g90 hh gyro, just installed autorotation main shaft and gear. Now it fly's very good for around 30 seconds and then the tail acts like the hh gyro is not working, it is controllable but just not like it was it will not hold a heading at all after around 30 seconds is it possille that the hh gyro went bad, or could the 20A ESC cause a problem if it was bad. Any Ideas would be very helpfull. Thanks.

Does the tail wag back and forth? What exactly is it doing? If the tail is wagging then you gain is set too high. Just slowly a bit at a time turn the gain down. Hope this helps.

Hey thanks for the reply, what is or was happening is after about 30 seconds it would just lose heading control and require full yaw imput to correct. The tail was perfect no wagging. So we tried a new g90 and all is good so far and just got a DX7 so I think we might have it whipped but this problem went on for a few days. Have only flown 2 batts so far but it is holding great, the first G90 only had a few hours of flight. Thanks again.

One of my tail motors got bad somehow and it became very weak after about two or three minutes. In another case, I used to plug the battery and let the gyro initiate inside of my house, then go outside in the cold (about -10C) to fly. As the gyro got progressively colder, it became more and more erratic, and unplugging then plugging the battery again reset the gyro and it did work correctly in the cold afterward.

Good luck with your problem.

Georges
