Super bummed pilot here. The other day I installed a new motor (orion slowmax 300 brushed motor)...test hovered in by....thing was working like a dream with all new amounts of head speed and main motor tourqe......Went out to do some real flying at the field down the street and next thing I know it is glitching like crazy then not working at all. The led in the 3in1 would flash red/green. The servos were still working. Then after a little tinkering and re-arming the whole thing was dead servo too now. Except for the dumb blinking red/green led. Ok so I just fugured maybe the new motor was too much for the 3in1 but many others have this motor pluged into the 3in1 with no troubles so figured that I would tinker some more.
I found I can get everything to work nornmally if I apply sideways pressure to the channel 4 plug right at the reciever. I then found out that the pressure applied to other plugs wake everything back up or presseure applied to the whole group of plugs so I am thinking that I have possible fractured the circuitboard in the Rx in the many crashes this bird has seen.
I am wondering has anyone seen this before? Has anyone taken one of the Rx's apart and successfully repaired it or is this a complete waste of time? Does my assumption about the Rx being damaged sound correct?
Any input would be much appriciated. I want a new Tx/Rx soon so I dont want to keep dumping $ into this pos eflite radio equipment.
Thanks, Noah

sounds good to me, and alot of people have taken apart the receiver and soldered pins back on and stuff like that. here are a few pics of the 4 in 1, but the concept is simular. You would obviously be opening the receiver and not the 3 in 1

mrasmm,
Thanks for the help.
I got in there and checked everything out and found that the board seemed just fine. I then realized that the problem was my own foolish tinkering out in the field. I allowed some overspray from CA insta-cure get onto the back of the connectors and it wicked in and caused a poor connection on a couple of the connectors in the Rx. Another hard lesson learned.[&o]
Those pictures you gave a link to are excellent.
