I am runnign the brushless motor/20amp esc setup and when I plug the battery in the 3-1 only flashes green to red. The tx is powered up and the servos respond to control inputs but there is no power to either the tail or main motor, only a red/green blinking. Im pretty sure I checked all the obvious things, other than a burnt out esc i dunno what it could be.

Either 1 you are not low on the throttle and the 3n1 is not arming, or you may have plugged in the wrong cables to tail/main etc...
Also verify you have not plugged in 2 "red wires" inTO the receiver from like the esc and the battery.
check your trims to make sure they are all the way down.
Check Servos to make sure they aren't reversed.
Remove your main blades before doing most of this or you may end up with a few bruises/lost eyes/etc...
DY
PS HA ha forgot that one idle up

well, almost everything was hooked up right...except the channel 3 throttle lead from the receiver which was backwards...took me FOREVER to figure that one out. Thanks for all your help, those were very comprehensive lists and i appreciate the ability to get my questions answered here, its a big part of what makes this hobby great.
