Someone explain this.
My heli is pretty much stock. It's got the Stersman Boomtown skids and boom and lots of ventilation, but none of that explains this flight.
I had the heli sitting on my right hand, TX in my left hand. I throttle up until it weighed nothing and pulled back my hand. I'm flying outside and it's just hanging. A quick rotation toward the street and I see the neighbors jeep. Ohhh, another recon mission.
I'm flying the stock flybar tonight with the brass weights and rubber boots and all. We all know that the heli won't go more than 15 feet without stopping and going pendulum. Tonight my heli went nearly 200 feet at fast forward using the throttle to maintain altitude of about 20 feet. At the jeep, I turned and dropped for a look. Satisfied, I flew it down the street at full forward and 3/4 throttle, banked left to make a rudder turn toward the house (still at full forward). At the house I brought the forward stick back to neutral, spun it around backwards and backed under the eves onto the porch. Hmmm, I haven't broken it yet. Still at hover I maxed both the left and right sticks simultaneously and it shot 150 feet across the street and over the river, then with a right rudder turn it returned.

OK, so what happened? These things won't do that. They won't go distance without the pendulum stop. They won't fast forward. I'm even using the heavy stock flybar. Tonight it's all good. If I knew what makes this work so well, I could start a clinic. There is no magic in my heli. There is no alloy except the flybar hub. The heading holds through the battery like it had a hh gyro. I really think its all in the setup.

Your thoughts?

That was really deep.
Ummm, Thanks.
I guess.

If all that we know about these things be true, then what I am flying can't work.
Therefore, some of what we think is true isn't.
So, I have to wonder which part of my theory interpretation is wrong.

My hover is solid enough that I could hover in the front yard, lay the TX down and walk to he heli and rescue it from the air. And yet it flies great distances. I estimate that it would fly all the way to over yonder if the battery will last.
Last evening was unusually hot and humid. And naturally when you would die for a breeze it was dead calm.

Looking at the blades I did see that one had a chip out of the leading edge. A significant chip. That didn't cause a rotation issue so I fixed it with Scotch tape. Fixed? Perhaps repaired would be more correct. And my flybar was bent a bit, but I straightened that and all was well again.

I know what it is. I've been talking with ndoren about the Falcon 3D. And the CX is near the phone so it knows what's going on. That explains a bunch. It's making my decision more difficult because if I get the Falcon, the CX goes.

Maybe scientists will discover that just like the Bee found in nature, the CX2 can't fly either.

Hehe I don't know there soloboss.

Excellent!!
Mr Balance, Please move to the front of the class where everyone can hear your answers. (oops, there's that wise guy coming out of me again)

So, if the stock one can't do what it did, and I didn't knowingly do anything to make it do what it did, then what did I do unknowingly to make it do what it did? There's gotta be something. And it's probably not the heat sink. I do know that in the current configuration I can't fly with the light weight bar. TBE. But with the stock bar it flies beautifully. Not aggressively, but very helicopterly.

When the wind quits I'm gonna try it again. Maybe I'll fix the TBE to see if the thing flies even better. Or not.
