Default Pics of a Modified CX 2 Pro

Hello Everyone

I just finished painting the canopy today.

Installed all the mods about 2 weeks ago (all the mods are listed below the pics)

It flies like a dream!!!!

No Blade strikes, VERY fast foward flight, 10 to 11 min flight times.

Mods include.

Carbon Fiber Tail Boom Kit
Indestructible Skids
Dynam Longer Inner Shaft
Dynam Longer Outer Shaft
LLama Shorter Flybar --- (IF YOU ARE STILL LEARNING DO NOT DO THIS!!!!!!!!!)
850Mah Lipo 15C Packs
Metal Upper Head
2nd Flybar Linkage
Xreame 180 BB Motors (A & B) --- (*see note Below)
Motor heat sync W/heat sync compound --- (Not sure if this is really necessary with the upgraded motors)
Extreme Canopy (Clear) --- (You have to paint them yourself)

Moved both pushrods to the far outer hole on both servo horns. --- (IF YOU ARE STILL LEARNING DO NOT DO THIS!!!!!!!!!)

Approx total cost of mods $130.00 USD

*NOTE --- These motors WILL NOT give you much of a speed boost at all (If any at all) They will however increase your flight times. As will the 850mah 15C Lipo battery. You can save yourself $32.00 USD by not buying these motors. The Battery is a must IMO.

I'm kinda proud of the way it turned out. Let me know what you think.

Hope this helps someone too...

Take Care

Dave

AWE ... SOME !!

I would like to REPLICATE exactly what you've done. Mine was turned into Pod+Boom and bound to the DX-7 ... all of which is GOOD UPGRADES.....But yours are WAY FAR OUT
congratulations
Do you have the chance to do the DX-7 thingy ? seems it would make yours AWESOME +++++

edit: P.S. it would be great also if you would disclose the SOURCES for all the parts. !

I put that body kit on mine a few days ago and it does look cool, but with stock motors and battery my flight time went to appx. 4 minutes, with the motors getting so hot that you cant touch them. When I get some money saved up,I plan on getting the Xreame 180 BB Motors (A & B) and going with the 850Mah Lipo 15C Packs

Something is binding or shorted. I put the stock motors back in while I was testing the new mods and never had an over heating problem or battery \ flight time issues. Make sure you have about 2 sheets of paper thickness of gap between the upper head and the lower shaft.

Ya gatta admitt that this body setup does weight a lot more that the original body.I didnt have a issue with the motors getting hot and the lost of flight time befor this body kit.
Dont get me wrong I love the way it looks and I have no problem upgrading the motors and battery.
Please explain "Make sure you have about 2 sheets of paper thickness of gap between the upper head and the lower shaft".
Are you talking about the main gears that mesh with the gear on the motors?
Thanks Rich

My kit came today!!
The guys at the LHS want one as well. I was told to stay away from boom kits sold on the net, but after they saw this one thier mind has been changed.
I kept my canopy clear so I cand add some small LEDs in the future..
No Hummer to put mine on so I used the Baja!!!

a humble request here : would it be possible to come over and SEE THE HELI IN PERSON, and in actual flight ? ....[ before commiting to the expenses involved.] I feel very entusiastic about how your project looks, would even buy a 2nd CX-2 if the performance actually warranted it.
My visit should not last more than 30 minutes, I am guessing.
Good JOB ! and thank you for the supplier's list. RICK

Does the 2nd Flybar Linkage do anything or is it just for looks?

When you put in hi end motors, more powerful batteries and a much shorter flybar, It's probably not a bad idea to have 2 flybar linkages.

It may fly fine with just 1 but for $1.98 I wasn't willing to take that chance.

Just received my conversion kit today. I take it that you use the factory battery holders or were they left out of my kit and what do you do with the antenna wire?

Stock battery holder works great.

and

There is no long antenna wire on a CX 2 just 2 one inch wires that stick out of the top and bottom of the 4 in 1

Those are next on the list..
I can say this new kit is WAY stonger than stock, it will take a fall and a hard hit.

Hello... Your CX2 looks very nice! My Xtreme canopy just came in the mail today. I know what to use and all but how did you go about painting it. Did you do just the white painting inside the canopy and do windshield painting on the outside of the canopy?

I just don't know how you would do it all from the inside. To get in there and mask it off would be a major nightmare as it's such a small area to work with.

Thanks.

Thank you!!!!!

And...

Yes, that is exactly how i did it. I have an Aztec Air Brush and did it all with that. It's ALOT easier to get the air brush into the nose of the canopy then it is with a paint can.

Hope this helps you

The tail is just for show.
I left my canopy clear and added the decals it came with and some of my own.
