RE: Upcoming Blade 400?!
ORIGINAL: FlyinLo
Judging by the current DX6 and DX7 pricing, my guestimate would be that the DX6i would sell for $230-$260 including the receiver and 3 servos.
Figuring the receiver and 3 digital S75 servos will probably be at least $100 I'd guess the radio alone could sell for $150-$180
But I could be way off

Anyone who wants the Blade 400 should buy one. However, if you would just like to have a Tx that can handle more than one bird AND have 5 point pitch and throttle curves, then the DX6i might be a good fit for someone at that price.

RE: Upcoming Blade 400?!
Well I've read all the posts on this forum and others. I'm a noob and when I got into this hobby the most important part for me was parts support. I didn't use a Sim nor a cx nor an FP heli. I went right to a CP heli..The axe cp by helimax and dam me for saying it was the best starter heli by far. I've had more success with this thing that if I had a bought anything else for that matter. Sure I crashed 4 times cost me time and money to repair it. But its still running I could'nt be happier. Incidently I don't crash anymore. I can hover with ease and don't find it that difficult. But I digress....I'm gonna buy the eflite 400 because I think it's my next best up grade from where I am right now. I like my axe cp but the tail motor thing is starting to become bother some. I like the fact that the blade 400 is belt driven (1 esc and 1 motor) as aposed to going seperates with my axe cp. (2 motors 2 escs). I'm presently gonna change the tail to gws dd and ad lipos then I'm done with this heli. The fact of the matter is eflite has good parts support and greathobbies in Canada here is gonna have the blade 400 in thier line up and has eflite as a product they sell with parts support. From a begginner stand point I beleive in the blade 400 and i think it will be viable next option for any noob and me for that matter. I like it. I want and will have it. The electronics alone would cost more to buy seperatly. The price point is excellent. Just my thoughts.

RE: Upcoming Blade 400?!
DX6i alone!! This just makes my day. I haven't flown my BCP since I sold off the DX7[] It turned a squirrely beast into a decent flyer. However I didn't want to spend $300+ again for just this app. The old DX6 wouldn't have worked because it didn't have sub-trim (unless I'm mistaken about that) and getting a proper setup is key to a good flying BCP. Plus, I like that 5 point throttle curve.
Man, I can't wait for this to come out!

RE: Upcoming Blade 400?!
FWIW
I just got back from the iHobby show and saw the 400 in person. It is BEAUTIFUL!
They had the stock one and a full carbon fiber one. It is really a nice piece of engineering.
I have a pic on my cell phone if anyone is interested.
They are hoping to have it available by Thanksgiving but Christmas might be the arrival date.
They also said all of the parts will be available at the same time.
Interesting is that 5000 to 6000 are in the US right now but they are waiting for more to come from overseas.
The hold-up in development was the DX6i and not the bird.
The DX6i is a completely new radio, not a re-branded existing model.
Anyways, I am glad that my pre-order is in.

RE: Upcoming Blade 400?!
Thanks for the update.
I'm sure you all know this already, but the [link=http://www.e-fliterc.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFLH1400]E-FLITE WEBSITE[/link] has a cool video of the Blade 400.
I can't believe I'm posting on this thread. It seems like just a few months ago I was saying I'd never be interested in a 400 size outdoor flyer.
Oh well, 100% addicted and not interested in rehab.

RE: Upcoming Blade 400?!
mpetrich, please post any pics you have!
Even though the stock version is all plastic, did it look like the parts were decent quality?
They're going to ship with the yellow tribal theme, right?
Did they give any indication about pricing for the aluminum parts?

RE: Upcoming Blade 400?!
OK, let me figure out how to Bluetooth the photo from my phone to my PC!!
Yes, the stock out-of-the-box version is yellow.
No pricing was mentioned on the aluminum and carbon fiber parts.
The carbon fiber stuff looked great.
Re. the quality, I have only been flying helicopters for about a year and a half and have the CP Pro and CX2.
What got my pretty excited is that the Blade 400, in my opinion, is in a different league in terms of overall strength and build.
Don't get me wrong, I love the CP and the CX but this is an entirely different helicopter.
It looks very well built and sturdy. The internal layout is nice and clean and there were a lot of people checking it out.
Funny, the hot thing at IHobby was DEFINITELY helicopters.
Alot of Chinese importers selling all types of helicopters.
I picked up one for $60 and it actually flies!
Hope that helps.
Matt

Thanks, J-Michael
I've had these in mind, not sure if they'd be too big. (3rd item down)

RE: Upcoming Blade 400?!
Since nobody ( that ordered one) has had there hands on one yet there's no telling. There are stories out there of people who have seen it but not flown it ( but swear its the best thing since sliced bread). Tons of slick advertising and people are lining up to pre order. Only time will tell on this one. I'm still not convinced. I'll stick with my TRex till the LHS gets them in and I can actually fly it. I'm not trying to be a Smart ***** but The Pro was supposed to be "3Dready...right out of the box" too so Im a bit gun shy.
