I don't recall seeing this in the manual, I could have easily overlooked it, but what is the range on the CX2 with full battery juice...how high can she go, how far out?

Well, I've heard the range is like 250-300 ft...How high? Well my best bud has the CX2 also and he's a nut with it, and he'll shoot it up to where I can barely see it, and then of course he flutters it down with blade clack !

You can try doing a range-check with a friend.
Just let him hold the CX2 and you walk away while moving the servo's. You can spin it up as well, but thats dangerous for your friend
.
Let him call you on your cell when the servo's stop moving and you still are putting in signals
.
On my DX7 there's a range-check button, and than it turns down the transmitpower.
Be sure to keep your TX battery voltage over 5v!! Because when it goes bellow 5v signal will drop and when voltage reaches 4.5v transmision will stop completely!

That made Me think of something; I forgot how to bind the TX to the heli so that if it cuts out in flight; for whatever reason, You can have it set at any motor setting so that it settles instead of dropping like a rock. Does somebody know?
Thanks,
Gary

You can indeed rebind and reset the 'failsafe' settings of the 4-in-1.
Personally i prefer to look for a good throttle position first (a slow, around 25% is working for me).
Then turn of the CX2, and the TX, but leave the throttle where you want it!
It is safest to disconnect the motors before doing this!
Now connect the bind-plug to the Batt-connector of the 4-in-1 and connect the battery.
The orange LED will blink like crazy. Now power on the TX, it'll automatically enter bind mode (it always does when powering on, see flashing red LED).
Let it sit until the orange light goes solid.
Now power of the RX and TX and remove the bindplug.
Set your throttle back to normal (4-in-1 won't arm otherwise) and follow normal startup procedure.
Now, get to a safe distance and shut off the TX. You'll see that the blades will spin to the speed you preset during binding.
Turn on your TX again and you'll have control again.

True. The biggest problem, for me, with this class of heli is loss of orientation due to the small size. Ran my BCP into a chain link fence due to a loss of orientation on my part. The good news is that the fence is OK.

i am having a problem with some whirling recently. i've had my cx2 for 10 weeks and about 40 blades. i recently went to the middle hole and need to go back to the hole next to factory setting, too sensitive in the middle hole. no real mods to speak of (broken/no front plastic mostly). thanks for the experience in here.

Is it violent whirling? If so, You may have your motor wires backwards; not polarity, but the top one in the bottom, and vice versa. (the wrong motor in the wrong connector). Just switch them out.
Will fix it instantly. You can check Your polarity as well.
Kinda need to know more from You.
Good Luck, and Welcome ! !

Also, better to start a new thread when changing topics. More people will see it and you'll be more likely to get helpful responses.
Then again, Goldslinger and J-Michael see everything.
J-MICHAEL,
