I set up my cx2 on the dx7 with the aid of this link:
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Articles...ArticleID=1658
They use an aircraft mod to do this and it works however I want to flaten out the throtle curve around each side of the hover position. Well the areo mode dose not have throtle curve available. The link says it can be setup in heli mode, but I dont know what type swashplate the cx2 has. What would I do about swash mix and pitch curve. I'm thinking jost set swash mix and all 5 pitch curve points to 0. I dont want to strip a servo by trying to move the swashplate on a fixed pitch. Thanks for any help on this manner. The throttle is pretty touchy and I am up and down and sometimes hit the floor or ceiling. Other than that the cx2 is a whole differnt animal on the dx7. Mike

Hi Mike!
Glad to see you have good results with the DX7, i have too!
The overall sense of control is better IMO and the trims (and subtrims) are much more sensitive.
As you can see in the manual, there isn't a swash-type that matched the CX2's, but you can go and try with swashtype NORM.
Personally I don't mind the throttle sensitivity, i only set the pitch and aileron to EXP, that improves 'precision flying' abilities quite a bit!
Now i'm gonna find a charger, as Spektrum doesn't supply one here in Europe.
What voltage and amps does the stock charger put out?

Well I really dont deserve any help cause my problem was that I left the binding plug in the reciever, I also had about 15-20 clicks of throttle on the xmiter trim, dont have a clue how that happened or why the swash plate would work. Thanks Mike[

OK I can see that a DX7 radio will work fine with the new CX2 with the 3 in 1. I have a Futaba Super 8 that I have converted to 2.4 with the Futaba 2.4 module and 7 channel receivers. Wouldn't they work as well?

Ron, I really dont know but if you set up a basic program with your xmiter and the servos work it might do ok. The CX2 is good because it has a AR 6100 soektrum rec in it. If yours has that reciever you probably wont be able to bind to it with the Fut. Then you would have to change the AR6100 to a reciever that the super 8 can talk to. Maybe some one else can jump in here and shed some light on this. Hope this helps a little. Mike
I also have a super 8 fut that my son adopted, da^% GOOD radio

I have a Futaba TM-7, 2.4GHz FASST module, for my Super 8, and the only receiver that will bind to it is the Futaba R607FS. It is a 9.8 gram, Futaba 7 channel receiver.
The thing I question is if the Futaba equipment will commuicate with the CX2 3 in 1 ?

I am sorry, I guess I responded to the wrond guy, JMichael said he was getting a new dx7 in a coupla days so that was the mix up, sorry, Mike
Ron I dont know if the module is compatable with the 3-1 or not just give it a try, I would think if any servos worked you could probably fix everything else in the radio, good luck.
Mine not working just right on the heli mode, no left cyclic so I will try to find the problem tomorrow. Right now I have to change a blade, had the cx2 sitting in the floor with everything hot and accidently hit the throt on the xmiter, it zipped across the floor and hit my radio case.

That's funny, I can't count how many times I've accidently hit the darn throttle, and hit my hand or anything else that's in site lol ! Ya think I would learn by now !!

Woohoo! Last night I bound BOTH of my CX2's to my DX7, one with the 4-in-1 and one newer bird. I think that I have my expo set too high, though. It felt totally unresponsive as compared to previous experiments. Now both of my stock Tx's are in cold storage!
When you set your limits, do you leave the throttle at 100%? I have read the article mentioned above and it calls for 150%.

Thanks Mike!
I'm now charging (after thrashing 2 DC supplies) at 12V 1000mAh. This charges REALLY fast
Not sure how the stock NiMH can handle it though, it gets a bit warm
. But i disconnect when reaching 11.6v.
Gonna get a LiPo for it, as i would like to be able to charge everything on one charger.
And i've ordered a new voltage regulator (Dimension Engineering) for the DX7 too, batterylife is supposed to improve big time when switching from a 5v to 3.3v (duh!) regulator
. 3.3v is the rating of the wireless transmitter, so why Spektrum throws away 1.7V....
Lets see how fast (or slow
) this part will arrive... Other parts are in 7th week now... [:@]
Bry; I haven't tried increasing the throttle limit, but i have descreased servo-travel (15% on pitch and ail) and adjusted rudder limit to my liking (heli rotates same speed both ways now) and added 20 to 35% of EXPO to make it better controlable on precision landings. But that's just my taste...

The specs I gave you were for the stock charger that came wit the dx7 for the xmiter and rec. I dont know much about charging lipos. I do know it can be dangerous so post it to the group or google it. Mike

Mike, there isn't a LiPo in the DX7 normally
.
It's (just) a NiMH 4 cell battery (kinda like 4 AA batteries connected in series).
NiCd and/or NiMH are pretty easy to charge, just push current in them (don't go over 1C!!! so 1.5Amps)
.
LiPo's cant be charged that easy, as their performance is totally relying on the cooperation of the cells.
And the voltage per cell CANT go below 3.45v
.
Bet enough about batteries, many many discussions elsewere on this forum

I just noticed that you mentioned lipos and I thought maybe you were going to charge them on the same charger as the nicads, sorry bout that my mistake. As far as the NiMi packs goes they will be ok if they get a bit warm, dont charge them hot which you wont be doing anyway with a xmiter batt. We used to charge the old sanyo 500AR packs at 5C+ with no problem but thats nicads mike
