Im trying to make a "home made" tail boom for my CX-2 but i cant figure out how to attach it to the heli. I used a plain drinking straw which i wrapped with heat shielding (aluminum foil tape with glue on one side). Im thinking about shooting it full of foam while im at it, like what you use to fill cracks in the wall. I know it sounds stupid but its just the right length and actually pretty tough, aparently i have some hill billy blood in me and it shows from time to time.
Anyone else make a home made boom and how did you attach it?

Ouch! Well, the Internet is your friend!
I think that a foam-filled straw would work if you did it right. It seems like you have some time to experiment.

I have made one from an Easton aluminum arrow. Works great. For the attachment to the heli I used some small aluminum C channel. I'm just working on the tail fins right now actually. Haven't quite decided how to do those yet. I will post some pics once I have it done.
