Default Looking for a new heli

I'm looking to buy my next heli and am thinking about the Esky Honey Bee King 2, but saw this on line http://www.rchobbycn.com/index.php?m...oducts_id=231e Anyone know if it's a good heli??? I now I should get a FP heli but can't afford to keep upgrading as I learn, so I though a cheaper CP with alot of Sim time would be good for me. Any Ideas???? Or suggestions on a good heli around these price ranges. Thanks guys.

I'm sort of running out on the fringe of the single rotor stuff, but it seems that people shy away from shaft driven tail rotors. It seems that the belt drive is the way to go. If I'm wrong, I need to know too.

blk822: Eh, across Puget Sound from me I see...Lol.. The HBK2 is an excellent heli from what I constantly see on these forums...I have a CX2, CPP, and a Trex 450 and the HBK2 is my next heli without a doubt...From factory I hear the only necessary mod to do is the brushless set-up with it. A lot of the "Vets" over at the WEEEEE....CP thread have one of these heli's, and gives it high marks...Just the other day CrashCrash on there posted some pics of his HBK2 (he has a couple) with a full scale body...Looks awesome, and throughout the thread you can see his other scale replicas, and info for the HBK2 if one was really determined...I'am looking forward to getting one one day, as they fly with the brushless set-up, very stable and much more at ease than say the Trex 450 from what I hear...Good luck...! if you're looking at that artech then look at the belt cp, it's an esky product like the king2 but bigger and already comes with brushless.

hobby lobby which was the main reseller (and had the best service and warranty) of the falcon3d has discontinued it and has gone with the HBKv2. If that means anything, you may have betterluck with the HBKv2

as far as belt vs shaft, shaft is more efficient, but more things can break when you crash with a shaft driven heli, like the conical gears or something. With a belt drive the belt slips or breaks in a crash =)

another reason for a shaft is for scale models, a shaft can go around a corner, but a belt cannot.

i wonder why they don't use flex shafts for tail rotors like they use in weed eaters and stuff like that. They can absorb alot of impact and can also go around corners, and they don't wear out.... hrm.... maybe I shouldn't have said that and should have marketed it instead and made my millions =P hehe j/k

Hi Blk...check out the Black Hawk 450 SE from KA-Planes in Florida (link below)...the Blade 400 , I think, is a plastic model with a good radio...the BH is all metal and carbon fibre, ready to fly with an adequate radio...I got one and am impressed...pretty stable but a handful to fly...a full CCCP machine...and the price is right at $410...great service from KA and parts are cheap......cheers, John H.
