I went to a store called Party City and bought these cool flashing led lights that go onto a bike's wheel. They only cost me $1 and come in a pack of two, so I decided to buy them and strip it apart to make led lights for my helicopter. They have 3 led's and a flashing board that I rewired and strung up onto my helicopter. For wire, I stripped it out of a telephone cable to wire up the led's. Hooked up a resistor, plugged it into the receiver and I was done.
Here is a small video and some pictures.

I will create a better detailed photo log on my second set of lights. You could say it cost me .50 cents each set

I really like that- the red and blue flashing lights are perfect for a police themed helicopter. Is there anyway you could post detailed instructions on how you did it? Iknow you said that you were going to post some more pics but instructions would be much appreciated!!

I did the exact same thing back in October, but added mini L.E.D.S and a F.L.E.D.
Those little 'rave' buttons work well.
You can drill a tiny hole into the resin cap and destroy the colored micro l.e.d. of strobe You don't want so Your heli doesn't look like a U.F.O. I just wanted a blue on mine.
They strobe in true fashion.
I have them on two of my CX-2'S

Gold, That was a great thread, It looks like you beat me to the pounch on this one
. Even down to filing off the tips of the leds to dispurse light. I had really thought I came up with an original this time and was going to post that on more detailed instructions thread. Its funny how our minds tic the same way
.
Helintx, I'm creating step by step photo instructions. Its going to take me a few days. I'm trying to quite smoking cigs so its hard for me to solder with shaking hands.
