I Never Should Have Changed A Thing on my CX2...Please Help.
I just got the collapsing wings from Extreme Core. I love them saved me a good number of blades already. I had it running perfect but it seemed to lack some power and run time. Might be the weight.
I was reading a few posts about the Xtreme Productions Stock 180 motors. I though a bit more of an upgrade would be nice. I also got the DN Power 2s 15c 850mah.
Just opened the box and installed the motors and charged up the batteries. Now when I start it up it goes insane and flips over. I have tried everything with no luck. I have even put the old motors back on and still it goes nuts and flips.
Any ideas guys? I’m stumped...ugh. Few pictures might help and I could add a video of my Crazy Blind Bird
Thanks in advance.
Josh

Are you trying to fly it with the body off ? If so put the body back on problem solved If the gyro is turned up to high and you try to fly with out the body off it will go nuts. I posted a video of mine doing the same thing awhile back.
If you have the body on and you have the problem first thing I would do is check the blade rotation to make sure the blades are turning the correct way. The red wires should both be to the outside of the esc when they are connected FYI
edit changed body on to body off for the going nuts part

Are the motor plug polarities aligned correctly?
ie, when you throttle up, do they turn in opposite directions and in the proper rotation?
I'm new at Heli's but been troubleshooting electro-hydraulic systems for years. It's my understanding that the motor plugs can be inserted either way.
I'd be interested in seeing how the motors affect run time and power.

I've flown mine with no body or tail at all just to see what would happen. Just made sure it was balanced before I tried to fly.

I have my left motor looking from the back with the pinion near the motor and the right motor with the pinion farthest away from the motor. And have the Xtreme stickers touching the heat sink.

It depends on the gyro setting. If it is turned up fairly high bad things happen if you try to fly with the body off. At a lower setting it will fly fine with the body off.

Looking at your pictures it looks to me like you have the rotation of the motors reversed http://image2-7.rcuniverse.com/e1/fo...10/Xc80057.jpg both red wires are to the outside on my heli

OK I'm going to flip the motors as I think the red wires are on the inside. The Stock logo is on the outside now.

In the pic it looks like at least one of the plugs may be in backwards?
Edit: nevermind. I'm too slow.

Do you have a picture of the flybar setup? Do you have the stock flybar on or the shorter one in the kit? Do you have a double linkage on the flybar? I had a similar think happen when I had the extreme core kit. Try the stock flybar with one linkage. If the helicopter kind of moves in a circle not rotating then it is probably the double linkage. The flipping part was due to the shorter flybar being less stable.

No I had it flyin great prior to the motor change out.
So i flipped both motors and nothing it still goes bonkers. The vid shows it all. The blades are going clockwise the right side motor (looking from the rear) is pluged into the top slot on the 4 in 1.
Could my 4 n 1 be toast from having the motors backwards?
Hmmm

I had this exact same problem when I installed my new motors. If you look closely at the 4 in 1 you will see a "+" and a "–", the red wire goes to the + and the black wire goes to the -, the blades should spin in opposite directions.
Hope this helps..

Video shows it all both rotating same way, they rotate opposite each other so you dont need a tail rotor

that's it, the motor wires are reversed and the blades are turning the same way - they should rotate in opposite directions so it don't fall over
did we fix it? - who needs a buddy system when you've got this forum and you tube

I'm not sure if it hasn't been answered above, but the problem I see in the video occurs when the motors are connected instead of one another. The blades will move correctly with this setup, however, the gyro will get positive feedback and actually rotate the heli instead of stabilizing it. Exchange the motor plugs and it will be alright.
