.....Is it inherent that when a friend, relative, co worker comes over that you MUST crash your CX2 whilst doing the demonstration of your immense flying prowess?

EeeeYup. Sure is.
At least with witnesses the crash tends to be spectacular. And usually unexpected - something you've never seen before.

Its just a cx2 thing, it treats you right, saves you from loads of trouble, but as soon as an audiance is present its suddenly posessed.
The transmitter suddenly becomes totally unfamiliar, the reciever has more glitches than a launch of bill gates xbox, all tallent that you have aquired goes straight out the window, as do audiance as it tears round the room trying to find its next victim
Or is that just me !?

No, it's the human desire to "show off" in front of others that leads us to trouble.
We perform moves that are "on the edge" and we are not fully concentrating on what the Heli is doing. We are also unconsciously gauging the reactions of the observers to whatever we're doing.
It's also Murphy's law!

No, its not your CX2. Its your most expensive helicopter which at the time was my Shuttle Z 30, and it was in front of my entire class. That was the first day I considered a 2.4 radio because of interference.

Example: just last week my back went out when I was moving in my new gun safe, now its not because of my stupidity trying to move 500 pounds, its the safe's fault for being so darn heavy and the manufatures' for making it so big.
....only in America!
See, here in the UK we don't feel the need to stock up on firearms, just incase someone tries to come in through a window, let alone a 500 pound gun safe!
Perhaps thats also why we have less back problems, as we dont need to move anything so big.

HAH! Last weekend a friend was in town with his 400 - I had a few beers so didn't fly mine but he was feeling up to it. At the time he had wooden dowels for training gear and no balls on the end - you can guess what happened next.
The dowels dug into the concrete and the bird promptly flipped - the result was a shower of spinters that a beaver would have been proud of. When the grips stopped spinning all that was left was about an inch of jagged wood beyond the grips.
I've never seen this before but it was a sight to see.... it looked like someone just tossed a bunch of mulch into the air! I know it's not funny, but I just keep on laughing!
BTW it was the Align 325's that he shredded. Or is it 315? The white and red ones.

Just out of curiosity, which way did it flip?
I can't blame you for laughing.
Hopefully, all that was damaged was the blades and his pride!

He flipped forward. He didn't take the spindle out, but did 'test' it by removing what was left of the blades and using two hex wrenches to look for misalignment - I would have after something as dramatic as that.
So I'd say no - blades were it!
