Default cx2 glitch problem

My cx2 will fly fine through several battery packs and then will act up without notice. It will seem to just loose signal. It will sometimes just keep hovering without responding in the same spot and sometimes it will go into a spin. Sometimes when this happens the failsafe will kick in when you shut the radio down other times it will just keep flying till it hits something and falls from the sky. Once it falls to the ground the 4-in 1 will go through it arming sequence and then it will work fine for sometimes as many a 10 more charges. I do let the heli cool between packs so I don't think I am overheating the 4 in 1 . Should I try replacing the 4 in 1 or could this be my transmitter. This is very annoying because as I said it will work without problems for a long time and then all of the sudden ???? This has me very fed up now because I am tired of replacing shafts and other parts from crashing when it isn't even pilot error. I do not want to fly outside because it seems the heli could just all of the sudden fly away on it's own.

Anybody have any ideas ?

That's a strange one. I suggest re-binding the Rx and Tx together and see if it still happens.

It sucks when it's an intermittent problem. It makes it hard to track down and fix. [>:]

Yes It is a tough one, I have tried re-binding it. I guess I will have to try replacing the 4 in 1. If that doesn't do it It guess it would be the transmitter.

I just hope it is not some kind of interferrance, although the spektrum dx3 I run my cars with never glitches.

My CX2 has been glitching lately also. Mine will just simply fall out of the sky when it happens. This is really frustrating to say the least. My 3-1 also goes back through the arming phase once the glitch happens. When it does rearm the roters always spin about 2 full revols. The trim also goes haywire. I usually am pushing my rudder trim left as I progress through the battery pack. Once the glitch happens i will have to push the trim the same amount right. I also am suffering shorter flight times as a result. Used to get 12-14 mins per pack now am getting half that.

I guess the moral of the story is I feel your pain[>:]

I have the same problem but i believe it is in the servos stey still work fine but they are the only thing that hasn't been replaced.did find a place that rubbed a bare spot on 1 of the servo wires and taped it and things seemed much better but now it's back to glitching again.hasn't fell from the sky again becouse i am afraid to take it to high or to far away till i get some new servos.another thing i am questioning is the extrem 180 bb moters.notice a lot of sparks in them don't have much time on them yet maybe2 hours tops so i haven't canged the brushes yet with the others that came with the moters.but i'm betting on the servos myself.

i've had the 180bb motors for about 2 months without changing the brushes and still seem to get plenty of power. I hadn't though about a wire short in the servos. I'll have to check that out. I tend to lean towards a bad 3-1. Have you changed out the 3-1 Rich? if so was there any change?

posted to the other thread too yes i replace 4 in 1 and it still done it. check wires around the shaft coller and on the rear if the chassis two places i've seen get nicked.servos can cause a lot of problems that are totaly unrelated to them like shorter flight times glitching etc.had 1 that would not arm the speed control after trying evrything including tx i told my buddy just unplug the servos and see what happens and sure enough it arme like a new one.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I see I am not alone. This is not too encouraging. Mine also has the xtreme 180 motors that I installed right when I got the heli so I do not know if it had the problem before I changed the motors. I no longer have the stock motors or I would try switching back. The servos is an interesting Idea. I do notice one of mine jittering at times but I thought that was more likely an effect rather than a cause. Servos might be worth trying.

I am about to buy another cx2 and start interchanging parts to figure this out. Or just get rid of the whole thing. I have not decided. I have spent a fair amount on all the usual upgrades so I really hate to give up now. It is a shame because my cx2 flies so nice for 5-10 packs and then when I am least expecting it SPLAT !
