Hello all. Just want to know the most responsible way of disposing of a spent battery pack. I don't know what's in them. Is it poisonous?

on the instruction sheet of the common sense lipo packs they said you can dispose of them yourself, you just drain the lipo down to zero volts and then take something and poke through the cells and then you can throw it out.

Rob,
Here is a thread that covered it http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6636767/tm.htm
Here is part of an email I got from FlightPower when I destroyed my battery
"If the pack is damaged like you said it is best to dispose of it. This can be done by placing it in a bucket of salt water for about a week to let it discharge itself. Once this is done it can be thrown away in the garbage."

Thank you everybody. I believe I will take my pack to Radio Shack. I like to recycle when possible. On another note. I thought my li-po was dying because my flight times were down to about three minutes. After removing the heat sink from the motors the gears were no longer in a bind. Flight time returned. I guess not all 'performance' parts really improve performance. Have a good day.
