Default Direct drive tail on blade cp, any problems?

Guys I've been pouring through the posts and all and reading as much as I can about the direct drive tail but I haven't found any "bad" things said about it other than weight?
Are there any down sides to using a direct drive tail on a blade cp with a 4n1 running lipos?
I've found a dd setup here cheap http://www.heli-fever.com/
Would this work? Looking for something more reliable than the stock motors..
Thanks!

For that price it wouldn't hurt to try it. Kyle Stacy uses a DD motor on his CPP that he can do 3D with.

just wondering if that is a good one and if it causes any issue with the 4n1 / gyro?

I haven't used a DD motor so I wouldn't know.

I tried a dd motor, it worked well for a week then the motor died, then I went back to the stock set up, my lhs blamed the fact that I didn't put a heat sink on the motor, I just keep extra tail motors for when they die, I have not had to replace the stock motor in months. I may try the new eflite set when I kill off the motors I have.
