Hello all! Recently got a CPP as my first helicopter. I'm getting much better at tail-in hovering after a few crashes on the front lawn. My question though, is.. is it normal to only get 5-7 minutes of flight time after an hour and a half of charging the stock battery pack? I'm also considering buying a few more battery packs so I can fly for a half an hour at a time. How many battery packs does everyone have for their heli?

Usually it is common to get 4-9 minutes on any helicopter. I get about 7 minutes also on the CPP. I have two batteries for the CPP and four batteries for my T-Rex.

ah ok. Thanks guys! I guess since I'm learning and enjoying the hobby a LOT so far, the 7 minutes goes by very fast. I think I would seriously be flying for 2 hours an evening if I could... but the batteries take so long to recharge, so I am buying more along with an extra balance charger. Anyone ever buy a CPP battery from xmhobbies? I just got one for $15... I'll see how it performs compared to the e-flite batteries.

Hey guys.. I was just outside flying my CPP... and I noticed there's kind of a grinding sound when I throttle up.. and also, the gold-colored drive gear is a little loose. Should it be rigid? Do I have to replace my main motor already?! agh!!! Troubleshooting suggestions welcome.
Another noobish question.. what does it mean when the light on the 3-in-1 turns red when I throttle all the way up?

as you throttle up, about halfway you will notice the light turn red. this indicates that you are now running constant RPM. as you increase the throttle beyond the halfway point, motor RPM remains the same, but blade pitch continues to change.
Your motor problem could be the lower bushing has failed. this happened to me once, basically the bushing/bearing behind the pinion wears out and the pinion and shaft now can wobble a bit. you need a new motor if so.

The red light means that the 3n1 is at max current draw from main motor so throttle up past red will only change the pitch of the main blades.
