Default B400 Replacement Motor

Has anybody tried motors other than the stock motor for the b400? I need to get a new motor and didn't know if there was another motor out there that would be better than stock and worth trying.

Hello AZTWINS

I cannot answer your question directly but I can offer some information that might be of help. Horizon Hobby is very good on their warranty. Most guys just send in their motors/batteries and they will replace them FREE most times. My motor just froze up in flight last week and brought me down. I have a battery out to a friend on loan that was brand new and crapped out after one charge. The short of all of this is, they are both going in a box and back to Horizon on Monday. I HAVE received FREE replacement batteries from them in the past so I know this works. My 400 is only 5 months old and has never seen 3D just a easy flier. Giver ah try!
Here is link to the guy I buy all of my big stuff from him and he's on EBay and his prices beat the LHS. He buys Blade 400's and tears them down and sells the chassis and RX, Gyros, Motors parts for great prices. This is for a 400 gyro but you can contact him through his email address.

The scorpion motor has all the power you could ever need/want. I think it is in the $54 range, but there is no way the stock ESC could handle that motor, so you would need their 40A ESC. I think that is in the $60 range. Or you could get another ESC around the 40A+ range. I have seen them at Helidirect and Readyheli.
