FMS is a free download, but after trying it, I felt that it's worth what I paid for it. One of the best of the low buck sims I've seen is the ClearView sim. It works well with the Esky Sim Controller. In fact, if you get the Esky Sim Controller, the FMS sim ships in the box at no cost. The controller product number is EK2-0905A.
I downloaded the Clearview sim and paid the $40. That gets me updates at no cost for life. The ClearView product is not a high-line simulator like Great Planes or some of the others, but for the price its a good enough trainer. I can't honestly say that I'm disappointed in the look and performance.
On a larger budget, I would be more happy with the higher grade simulators. I suppose it's a good example of "You get what you pay for".
