Best price I was able to find was directly from the Horizon Hobby site. That said I ended up bying mine from my LHS for a bit more but without the shipping so it was basically a wash between the two but I had it in had same day.

Flytochill,
Your question sparked an interest - something that I've considered doing for some time. I want to go to 2.4ghz at a minimal cost and I'll have a 'never used' 2.4ghz CX2a transmitter coming to me soon. I know that I'll have to change the old CX for accept the new 3in1 - but I never really thought about the other change required. The 3in1 isn't a 4in1 because there is no Rx on the board.
I'm getting a little fuzzy about the models of the CX family.
I have the old CX - the one that predates the first of the CX2's.
The CX2 is the first 2.4ghz bird.
The CX2a is the current 2.4ghz model with the aluminum flybar head and the 3in1 has the electrical overload protection.
Did I get it right?
My question (finally) is this; does the CX2 actually include an AR6100e receiver or is there a cheaper receiver installed? And to get my CX to work, I'll need both a receiver and either a CX2 or CX2a 3in1. Right?

OK, after some poking around I have answered the easy questions. But I have one left with no answer. The older CX2 shipped with a 4in1. The newer version ships with a 3in1 and a separate receiver. When I go to the parts listings at several of the CX2 parts suppliers, I find a choice of either a 3in1 or 4in1, but I don't see any listing for a receiver. Any idea what's up with that? I mean, ya gotta have a receiver!

I have the new cx2a I think or maybe something in between, a form came with my owners manual EFLH1250 telling me the updates it says, 3-in-1 control unit. but my owners manual calls it a 4-in1. [:-]
