Guys - appreciate some advice here. I've had a minor clockwise-drift going on for a while now, and after adjusting the Proportion pot all the way, the drift still persists. Next I tried upping the Gain setting a slight turn, recheck; slight Gain turn up, recheck; etc. I can't get rid of the darn drift! Could my Top motor be getting a little weak? Chopper is about 6 months old with a lot of flight time, had my share of crashes but always rebuilt pretty darn good.
Appreciate any ideas!!! All I can think of now is try new motors...

Are you unpluging the battery when you adjust the Proportion pot . You have to unblug to set this. The gain can be adjusted pluged in. Other than that you might have to mess with the servo linkage but I am not sure which side to adjust sinc I havent messed with it in a while.

Yes I always unplug the battery and reset the gyro after making any changes. It is definitely some sort of either Power or Proportion problem. I've got the Proportion Pot all the way clockwise and the drift is better, but is still there. It becomes more pronounced after I've had the throttle up; it also turns much slower to the left when I give it full right rudder, but still turns fast to the right.

Before buying new motors give lube a chance LOL. After considerable FT on these the bearings can get a little tight or even go bad. If the bearing or bearings holding one of the shafts start to go before the ones on the other shaft you will certainly have drift that cannot be tuned out. An easy way to check is to feel both motors immediately after flight. If one is considerably warmer than the other you can bet you have some sort of bearing or binding problem. Try out some tri-flow spray lube. You can pick it up at most auto parts stores. It's good stuff and sticks around a while. If this dosen't help maybe motors are the answer but may as well try the less expensive fix first. Lube the swash plate bearing too. That can also cause binding. You will usually find that the motor running the outer shaft will usually be a bit warmer than the upper due to more stress on it via swash movments but it shouldn't be way hotter.
Good luck
