Some MCX flybar's have wings?

I have looked around on the form and I can't find the answer to this.
If it exists please just post the link... Sorry if this question exists I have been looking for a while and can't find it...
Sometimes when I see people selling the MCX flybar's they have almost a wing like end to them like this.

However the vast majority look like mine like this:

What is the deal and is one style better then the other?

Oh... Ok...
I was thinking that somehow having the wing tip may give you lift or have some other positive effect.
Also I am not clear on what the function of the FLYBAR is.
I need to read up more about it.
