RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
I tried the suggestion above. I tried all sorts of combinations, but it didnt help. So I guess that I must have something really bent like a spindle.

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
Alex,
Try this: Pull the Head off, plug the battery in and slowly run up your throttle to et the shaft spinning. Hold a marker lightly against the shaft (just touching), pull it away and look at the shaft. If the marks go all around it is straight if not it is bent. If it is bent bend it Away from the marked side, and repeat the spin-up & marker part until it is straight. Set the head back on the main shaft Balance the fly-bar un-hook all the links first then adjust as needed to make it balanced. Hook all your links back up and put the retaining pin back in. Pull your blades and balance them. Before reinstalling them check you make sure your blade grips are tight. then spin the feathering shaft using the Allen key and check to make sure your feathering shaft is straight, if not replace it. Re-install your blades and spin up and set your blade tracking If your vibration is still present you may need to replace center hub. I did the above and mine is smooth as can be now. My center hub was worn and the rubber O rings were flattened out, so it was due for a change. I also pulled my main shaft and swapped it with one I had previously straightened with a hammer and a block of wood, though I could have just straightened it in the heli, I mostly swapped it since the shaft was showing wear under the swash plate. While I had my head apart I pulled the outer fly-bar weights off as well. I also run 2 extra shims in the head. Have fun. |
RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
To help solve my balancing issues, i pulled the entire head assembly off, blades, hub, flybars, the whole thing all in one piece, basically everything from the main pin up, minus the hoops. I then used the flybar rod as a lever point and added tape to the lighter blade side until it balanced out, runs like a sowing machine now. Its probably not the best way to do it, but it takes care of the most important aspect of balancing and that is the components that actually rotate about the main shaft. If you still have problems, its probably a bent main shaft or worn head components.

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
If you have all your trim set right and lift off, will this heli not simply hover? I read someones post who mentioned if you let go of the right stick the choper will drop oout of the sky??
I'm having a tough time deciding weather I should go Blade CX-2 or the CP pro. Are the electronics on the Pro better then the CX-2? |
RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
I dont think there is a heli made that will hover itself :) Flying a plank is like riding a bike, flying a heli is like sittin in one spot on a unicycle.

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
after 3 crashes with my CP Pro i adjusted almost every part and balanced it out. now i fan fly it just fine. i am not waiting on a huey body.

LOL :D Thats a great way to put planks vs. helis.

Darn, been there too, loosing stuff. Dave / Choppersrule |
RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
So, I got the new spindle in. Installed it and spooled that dang thing up and it didnt change it at all. Shakes like a hurrincane; 9 on the richter scale (I think that's how you spell it). So I did the suggestions above, ripped the head off, and checked the main shaft to see if it was goin NUTZ. No, it wasnt, so I took the main shaft from another micro that I had that had nothing wrong with it, and stuck it in the BCPP. Didnt help, so I called the guys and he said just to send it in and he would see what he could do.
So good and bad. [:@]BAD- I might not get it back before Thanksgiving. :DGOOD- Ill probably just get a new one, and it --might--, get back before Friday, but Ill probably have to pay fast shipping.[:o] Thanks everyone who gave suggestions to get this dang thing figured out. Alex |

Alex,
Let us know how things work out for ya. Take Care, Dave / Choppersrule |
RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
I would take the entire head of the heli of any balance it as one unit, blades, hoops, bell-hiller and all...I had bad vibe issues and balanced the heli this way...now is a sowing machine lubricated with butter, a thousand times better

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
When you say "shakes like a hurricane" and it isn't balance--are your blades too tight in the blade grips? Is your damping too stiff? These things caused shaking in my BCPP. Check the feathering spindle where it goes thru the o-rings and see that there arent too many shims and that the stepped washers are facing the right way (stepped sides towards the bearings).
The blade grip screws that screw into the spindle must be tight, but the whole assembly must be free to flex a bit in the o-rings where the spindle goes thru the hub. This stiffness is controlled by the little shims, they are really thin, but even one extra per side makes a big difference in the "shaking" behavior if we are talking about the same shaking. The blades themselves should be able to be swung in the grips "with moderate pressure." |
RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
Any new info yet? Is elfh1176 been released?

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
Just bought my first heli and it's a BCPP. Having difficulty trying to hover and need assistance on just what to adjust.
Please reply with if don't mind pointing a beginner in the right direction. Also, not sure what I did but last night it just spins in a circle even when it lifts off. Help? Thanks in advance. P.S. the day I get this to fly I will have to share my joy with all. |
RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
Read the RADDS heli training. Hovering is going to take a while to master, just when you practice, be in a big area and practice over a smooth surface to that it can slide when you have to bring it down quick. Dont be nervous either, being nervous makes you do dumb things when flying rc. On the spinning on take off, its pretty much unavoidable, tork from the main blades causes it to do that while waiting for the tail rotor to catch up. You can try to avoid it by powering up slow and by giving it the by correcting it with your yaw on the way up.
|
RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
I will start reading RADDS. However, the spining I am referning to is weel before lift off.
As soon as I apply throttle the heli spins counter-clockwise while it is sitting on the ground. It use to at least get off the ground as I was trying to learn the hover. Now it spins wildly on the ground. I changed blades but that had no effect. |
RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
make sure that your tail rotor is on tight, push it all the way in.

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
HelmsJ,
Make sure you didn't accidently move the rudder control trim all the way to the left or right. Keep it centered, if it still spins rapidly, you may have to readjust your 3-in-1 controller. Follow the manual on this, it's pretty good. Or, here's a link to a video for Blade CP set-up. It has 5 parts and has some very good information, 95% of the information will related to the CPPro also. http://www.funscale.com/cpg148/thumbnails.php?album=8 Dave / Choppersrule __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ___________ ORIGINAL: helmsj I will start reading RADDS. RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
Umm, just a guess, but check the polarity of the tail motor connector where it plugs into the 3-in-1 unit. If you had it unplugged at any time maybe you plugged it in upside down and the tail motor is spinning backwards!
I know it's a long shot but check it anyway. On mine the two connectors for the two motors are opposite (one has the red on top, the other the black on top) so it's easy to get confused. The other possibility is that you fried the 3-in-1 tail motor output mosfet. The motor might still spin but not enough to do anything. Also the tail motor itself can get weak to the point where it spins but doesn't do much pushing. Of course you set up the 3-in-1 according to the manual directions...[8D] Guess how I found out all this stuff... Keep us posted! And if the BCPP is your first helicopter, I bow down to you in awe... |
RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
Hi all. Last week I traded a guy in the marketplace for a blade CP. That should be in the mail. Today I went to the LHS and got a little anxious, so I bought a CP pro. I have 3 packs worth of hover and some slow manuevering around. I have some electrifly 910MAH 11.1v lipos I have been using without issue. I like the way it flies, took a pack to get used to and trimmed. I reallyenjoy it though, smooth little machine. I can't wait for the CP to come in so I can beat on that. The Pro will be babied until I get better, the CP will be ridden hard and put away wet :) Over the winter I see a trex in my future......

Thats what is great about having two Helis :)

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO
Just took the training gear off and finished dialing the gain and proportion in. Been doing a litte fast forward flight, but just from left to right and right to left. I dont feel too comfortable nose in yet. I need to get on AFPD and get some nose in time. Anyone know of a BCPP model to download for AFPD?? Would like to have one, the eco8 or eco7 that comes with the sim does not fly like my blade at all.
